Understanding the Preamble of the Indian Constitution
The Preamble of the Indian Constitution is like the introduction to a book. It gives us a clear idea of what the Constitution stands for and what kind of country India wants to become. It tells us four main things: 👉 Where the Constitution gets its power from – the people of India. 👉What kind of nation India is – sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic, republic. 👉 What goals it wants to achieve – justice, liberty, equality, fraternity. 👉When it was adopted – 26th November 1949.
